Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is the carrier protein for cholesterol in the blood. LDL binds to its receptor on the capillary walls and thereby mediates the uptake and clearence of cholesterol from the circulation. In atherosclerotic lesions oxidatively modified LDL is found and oxidized LDL is specifically recognized and ingested by macrophages via scavenger receptor A and CD36. Oxidized LDL may be a marker of atherosclerosis but the precise changes in oxidized LDL are not well described.
Structural proteins in Arabidopsis provide cellular stability, facilitate protein transportation within the cell and are essential for cell growth. Three types of molecular motors are involved in the organization, dynamics and transport processes associated with the cytoskeleton (1). They include myosin, which transports cargo along actin filaments, and kinesin and dynein, which transport cargo along microtubules (1,2). These proteins regulate many cellular functions, including cell divisio
The Toll-like receptor 4 by activating natural immunity, specific immune response involved in the start-up, Toll-like receptor 4 as an important signal transduction transmembrane receptor involved in the toxin-induced inflammation in the pathological process, its mechanisms of control On a growing concern. all regions were either double-stranded or sequenced with an alternatechemistry or covered by high quality data(i.e., phred quality =30); an attempt was made to resolve all sequencing pro
Required for the innate immune response. Downstream effector of the Toll-like receptor (TLR), TNF and IL-1 beta signaling pathways leading to the production of IL-6. Forms a complex with YWHAB that acts to repress transcription of DUSP1.
FPRL1 is a low affinity receptor to N-formyl-methionyl peptides, which are powerful neutrophils chemotactic factors. Binding of FMLP to the receptor causes activation of neutrophils. This response is mediated via a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The activation of LXA4R could result in an anti-inflammatory outcome counteracting the actions of proinflammatory signals such as LTB4 (leukotriene B4). FPRL1 has been reported in phagocytes, monocytes,
This gene encodes the fatty acid binding protein found in epidermal cells, and was first identified as being upregulated in psoriasis tissue. Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. FABPs may play roles in fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with type 2 diabetes. The human genome contains many pseudogenes similar to this locus.[
